As a photographer I can technically take a good picture but I would be the first to tell you that I do not have an eye like the masters of the trade. I grew up in the age of Film and have spent many hours in the darkroom developing my skills. Since the advent of digital photography and the creation of Photoshop by Adobe, I have been able to take an ordinary photo and manipulate the pixels to enhance the photo into something interesting and pleasing to the eye. The digital darkroom has further enabled me to bring out feeling in a photo that I would not have gotten in the darkroom.
Yes, I agree with the purists, the picture should say it all, not the manipulation in the digital darkroom. But this manipulation of the photo has allowed the photographer to express another side.
